MOS BLACKPACK - The Best Backpack We Make!

Regular price $139.95 Sale

The MOS Blackpack is our most durable backpack with many features to keep your gadgets organized and protected. When used in combination with a "MOS Reach" power adapter you are able to plug in all your devices to a single outlet without having to take them out of the Blackpack.

Here are the current improvements from the Kickstarter Backpack.
  • Slightly larger laptop pocket to better fit most 15.6” laptops.
  • Longer water bottle pocket zipper to allow for taller 32 oz bottles.
  • Slightly wider and stronger sunglasses pouch. This should allow you to put most phones in the quick access pocket and help it to protrude less into the main pocket. It is also super crush resistant and shatter resistant.
  • About 10 cm longer straps to better accommodate larger shoulders.
  • Three additional Mesh Pockets in the main outer pocket.

Excluding the straps, the MOS BLACKPACK is 31 cm by 46 cm by 18 cm when full, but unexpanded
When expanded the MOS BLACKPACK is 31 cm by 46 cm by 23 cm.

Awesome design, didn't last

I'll try to keep it short: love the design. Comfortable on your back, minimalist/tonal looks, orange lining is great (instant reminder if you left it unzipped), pockets and layout are very well thought out.

But out of the two main zips, that have two zippers each, so four total, two broke within a couple of months.

And before they stopped working completely, it'd zip up, but with the teeth not engaging properly, so the bag would tend to split open along the zip and spill the contents. At this point, I can still use the bag more or less ok, but can no longer zip up either of the main compartments such that the two zippers meet in the middle; it's one working zipper each, so usable in one direction only. I still use it as my daily commute bag despite all that, because of all the plus points, but feel the reliability just wasn't there; it's a decent bag, have not found a better one to replace it yet, but I feel I paid far too much for it given how not-very-long it worked as designed.

We're sorry to hear the zippers broke! We've sent you an email about getting a warranty claim setup.

If You Like the Original MOS Pack, You Will Love This

I was really happy with my purchase of the original MOS Pack a year or so ago, but always wished it was just a bit bigger. With the Blackpack, I get the best of both worlds, and some new amazing features.

Let's start with the size. At it's smaller size, the Blackpack is only slightly larger than the MOS Pack, and once you expand it into it's full size, it holds just a bit more. I always felt like I was cramming my MOS Pack too full at times, but with the Blackpack, I can always expand it if I'm in need of a bit of extra space.

The built in rain guard is amazing to have, although I'm not sure about their claims of it adding extra padding when it's not in use. I guess technically it's true, but I don't know how much extra support a thin rain guard is going to add. Either way, it's great to have.

As far as the inside goes, there's a few extra pockets compared to the MOS Pack (again, always wish the MOS Pack just had a few more, and this delivers) as well some slightly different layouts. I had to rethink my everyday carry packing strategy for all my tech, but once I adapted to the new lay out, the Blackpack more than holds everything I need it to.

The water bottle pocket is again, a bit bigger than the MOS Pack, but the pop out holder is only attached at one point, compared to being threaded down the entire length on the MOS Pack. It seems sturdy enough, but I worry for it's long term viability after months of carrying a heavy water bottle with only one small connection. Still, the Blackpack holds two water bottles much easier than my MOS Pack ever did, so I'll take the less sturdy implementation on the Blackpack. It may even be easily reattached in the event that it ever does break.

All in all, I'm extremely satisfied with the Blackpack. It's a bit pricey, but other than the water bottle pop out, it's extremely well built and feels like it will last for years to come.
